First Business can currently be found on both SES-2 (87 º) and SES-1 (101 º).

 

The last day of transmission on SES-2 will be  06/19/2012   at  23:59.

 

Stations are asked to move to SES-1 as soon as possible. 

 

As a reminder, the minimum antenna size for First Business is 3.7m (12’).  All stations must use a PLL (Phase Lock Loop) LNBs and a TI filter.  Antennas that do not have the proper antenna size or proper LNB will not obtain proper C/N.

 

Proper setting of polarity is crucial for proper reception.  The polarity should always be set by using a spectrum analyzer, nulling out carriers on each polarity so that no carriers visible on the H pol are visible on the V pol.  Simply peaking polarity for signal strength is not sufficient.  If stations have any questions regarding proper antenna peaking, please contact affiliate engineering.

 

It should also be noted that an overloaded signal, usually caused by inline amplifiers or fiber converters, can cause incorrect C/N readings.  If you are certain you have peaked your antenna, set proper polarity, and are using a 3.7m antenna or larger and you still have a low C/N level, remove any inline amplifiers and re-check readings.

Monday, May 28 is the Memorial Day market holiday. Please record and hold onto a copy for backup and emergency use.  It will be fed at the normal times and coordinates.

DO WE HAVE YOUR CONTACT INFO?
There are occasions when we need to contact your master control operator late at night to inform them to take the updated 2nd feed.  (Final Primary Election returns and significant global events may occur after our first feed.  We are able to update the 2nd feed for timely morning broadcasts.)  A Master Control phone number would be most helpful  We’d also like contact info on your programming person to inform them of Evergreens and special shows.
